CULTURE AND HISTORY I
In this module, students will learn about the history of architectural timeline. This is done through a series of lectures, projects and precedent studies. Each student will learn in depth the elements each architectural era has with the famous buildings and the concepts that architects of each era has to offer.

As for the assignments, through the study of existing buildings, students will learn how to communicate and and expand their own architectural vocabulary and develop design concepts.
Project 1: Precedent Studies
For this project, in groups of 5, students are given an existing building to research and study about. They are required to answer a set of questions, compile it and present it neatly on a online forum. The building we were given was St. Basil Cathedral in Russia, Moscow. Project 2: Precedent Study & Analysis Sketch Journal
In this assignment, using whatever information they have collected, students have to produce a sketch journal. The information inside included a architectural timeline, information about the building and technological advancements of that architectural era.
Project 3
For this third project, students are asked use their creativity to create a presentation board. In the board is the answers to a list of questions given in the brief.

Reflection
After completing all this projects, I have to say that i really enjoyed researching about St. Basil Cathedral it was eye opening to how the architects designed this building and the rich history it had was so amazing. I am really glad that I was given this building. I had learned a lot about it and from it, how everything done, the designs and colors and patterns all had a reason to it being designed that way. Loved it. Will forever remember it:)
